Hands in pockets...

[charley]

Charley walked into the courtyard, his hands in his hoodie pockets and his head down against the wind. He had... someone... on his mind, and he couldn't get her out. He found a bench by the fountain and sat, sighing, she'd never like me, I'm not... 'dating material', he thought bitterly, kicking a nearby rock. It skittered and bumped into the far wall with a light 'smack'.

[Sarafina]

Sarafina wandered into the courtyard humming lightly. He eyes were a bright yellow-green and she was in a very good mood. She looked around the courtyard seeing Charley sitting on a bench. Her eyes brightened when she saw him and she stepped behind him making sure he didn't notice her. She covered his eyes with her hands and whispered "Guess who."

[charley]

Charley felt hands go over his eyes and the voice of... Sarafina. His cheeks turned bright pink, and he stuttered, trying to reply, "I-I-I wonder w-who?" he joked, a small smile on his face. He twitched nervously, desperately hoping she couldn't read minds, though it was foolish of him to think she could. He felt his ears turn pink at the feel of her hands on his face, oh god, I'm like a stupid puppy... he thought, kicking himself mentally.

[Sarafina]

"Me!" Sarafina said childishly as she let go of Charleys' eyes. She giggled slightly as her face turned a pinkish color. She took a seat on the bench and looked at him smiling widely. "So..Whatcha got against the rock?" she asked referring to the rock he had kicked and she giggled again. What's up with the giggling Sarafina? she mentally scolded herself looking back to Charley.

Charley laughed nervously and shrugged, "I dunno, we weren't having a great relationship, so I had to end it." he joked, his eyes bright and large as he laughed again. He looked at Sarafina, "What brings you h-here?" he asked her curiously.

[Sarafina]

Sarafina laughed and grinned at him widely. Her eyes were still a bright yellow-green. She just shrugged at his question. "Nothing really. I had to get around on my ankle." she said motioning to it. She smiled glad that the swelling was finally going down. She looked back to Charley. "So what brings you here on this fine day?" she asked motioning with her hands to their surroundings.

[charley]

Charley shrugged, "I was just... thinking." he said vaguely, avoiding the question. He looked at her ankle, concerned, "What happened to your ankle?" he asked, his chocolate eyes slightly wide.

[Sarafina]

Sarafina nodded understandingly. "I was practicing my ballet in that spare classroom and I tried to show off and fell." she said frowning slightly. She shook it off and looked at him smiling again. "It's a lot better now though."

[charley]

Charley smiled, "That's good." he said, "Showing off, huh? Sounds like something I would do." he laughed, "Not in ballet class, but-uh, you know what I mean." he grinned sheepishly, and rubbed his arm nervously.

There was an akward silence, and he didn't know what to say. He looked up into the sky, "So... how about the weather?" he asked, sounding uncharacteristically stupid.

[Sarafina]

Sarafina just nodded sheepishly. She chuckled slightly which was followed by the always present akward silence, which gave her a moment to think and debate over some things. I hate these things..Should I tell him that I like him? Does he like me? What if I tell him and he doesn't like me back? What if he thinks I'm a total loser? I bet he does.. she thought and debate with flecks of amber beginning to appear in her eyes.

Sarafina snapped back to attention when she heard him speak again. She giggled slightly at the question and admired the sky as well. She smiled and closed her eyes leaning her head back. "I love it." she said taking a deep breath.

Charley blushed and gave her a nervous smile, noticing her eyes change slightly and thinking it looked marvelous. "I-I really like your e-eyes." he choked out, his face immediately turning red with embarrassment. He looked down at his feet and winced, hoping she wouldn't start laughing at him and teasing him like other girls had done before. Please don't hate me, please don't hate me... he thought desperately.

[Sarafina]

Sarafina opened her eyes again and looked at Charley. Her face was tinted a light pink color. "Really?" she asked smiling widely. "Thanks! All the guys at my old school used to think it was weird, and I got teased a lot when I was younger because I couldn't and well..still can't control it." she said still looking at him. "Are you okay?" she asked noticing that his face was red and he was looking down.

Charley looked up, gulping, and shook his head vigorously, "No, I'm fine!" he said a little too quickly, then he corrected himself, "I mean, yes, I'm fine." he said in a lower voice. He blushed and gave Sarafina a nervous smile, "I-er... just... a little lightheaded is all." he lied, feeling bad already for lying, even though it wasn't that big of a lie, or very important. "I-I mean..." he trailed off, biting his lip.

[Sarafina]

"Are you sure?" Sarafina asked looking at him slightly worried. She raised a hand and felt his forehead softly. "Well you're a little warm." she said blushing a little at the contact. "But Doctor Sarafina will take care of you!" she said grinning widely and drapping an arm lazily around his shoulders. I really REALLY REALLY wish I knew how to control that.. she thought knowing those few specks of amber in her eyes were slowly taking over the yellow-green in her eyes. She drew her arm back as her face turned a red color.

Charley stuttered over his words as she touched his forehead, "I-I uh.." he mumbled, "I do? You will?" he said, slightly dazed. He shook his head and grinned, "Uh... okay." he said, unsure if she was just teasing him or if he was really feverish, "S-so how long do you think I'll live, doctor?"
